Our Story

Hi, I’m Sammy, a mum, a natural gift-giver, and the founder of LoveliBox.

In April 2023, I was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma, a rare form of eye cancer. At the time, my daughters were just 1 and 7 years old. It was one of the scariest times of my life, and like anyone going through something big and unexpected, I was completely overwhelmed.

Almost overnight, our house filled with flowers and sympathy cards. While they were sent with love, I remember looking around and suddenly feeling like I was living in a funeral home. Instead of feeling uplifted, I felt a bit lost. I just wanted something that said, “You’ve got this,” or “It’s going to be okay” something that offered support, not sorrow.

That’s when the idea for LoveliBox started to take shape. When people asked if I needed anything, I realised there was a gap, a space for thoughtful, practical, gentle gifts that could actually help someone feel a little more comfortable, a little more seen.

I wasn’t having chemo, but I was going through intense radiotherapy and needed things like eye patches and overnight wear- items you’d never find in a typical gift box. So I started to imagine what I would have wanted.

I’ve always loved giving presents more than receiving, and creating LoveliBox has been a quiet project in the background while I’ve been healing. Since I had to pause my hobby as a photographer, this has become a way for me to channel my creativity and care into something that might help someone else feel a little less alone.

LoveliBox isn’t just for people going through cancer, it’s for anyone having a tough time. Whether it’s illness, recovery, or just a rough patch, I hope these little boxes bring a moment of comfort, calm, and kindness.

And because this is so close to my heart, I’ll be donating a portion from each box sold to support Ocular Melanoma research and care, a small way to give back to a cause that’s changed my life.

Thank you for being here. I’m really proud to be at the start of something that feels meaningful and I’m so glad you found your way here.

Sammy
